Israeli army raids West Bank town near Jenin

STORY: According to local media, the army surrounded a house belonging to the Irshid family in the village of Sir. A number of Palestinians were detained.

The Israeli army said that its soldiers, “apprehended a wanted individual suspected of involvement in terrorist activity and located explosive devices in the town of Sir."

"Two additional wanted suspects were transferred to security forces for questioning. During the force's efforts to neutralize the explosive devices, a fire was ignited in the area, and put out a short while after," it added.

Reuters footage showed members of the Palestinian emergency services and residents inspecting the damage of the burnt house.

Walid Irshid, the owner of the house and whose sons were detained in the raid said the army blew up the house.

Amal Irshid who lives nearby, said soldiers detained a Palestinian man near her house.
