ISS launch honors 'Hidden Figures' mathematician

A space station supply ship named after the Black NASA mathematician featured in the movie “Hidden Figures” rocketed into orbit Saturday, the 59th anniversary of John Glenn's historic launch. (Feb. 20)

- 10. Five, four, three, two, one. We have engine ignition. Main engine start. And we have liftoff [INAUDIBLE] towards NG-15 mission. [INAUDIBLE] Engines are at 100%. Altitude, core pressures, and equal substances are nominal.

- The SS Katherine Johnson takes flight on this-- the 59th anniversary of John Glenn's Mercury flight-- carrying 8,000 pounds of cargo to the International Space Station. Good performance on the first stage so far.

- Engine's at 100%. All systems nominal.

- Stage one continues. Nominal performance. Engine's at 100%. Good core pressures.

- Engines remain steady. Altitude nominal.
