Italian Firefighters Battle Brush Fire in Sicily

A fire broke out in dense vegetation near the town of Castiglione di Sicilia, Italy, in the early morning hours on August 20, threatening several structures, Italy’s national firefighters – Vigili del Fuoco – said.

Local news reports said the Vigili del Fuoco and locals from the Linguaglossa volunteer fire department used several aircraft and several ground crews to control the flames, which burned approximately 50 acres.
