Italy's Mount Etna spews ash after eruptions

Etna which is Europe's tallest active volcano has been experiencing sporadic bursts of activity since erupting in late February.

Many people living in the vicinity of the volcano have taken to social media to share spectacular footage of ash plumes and occasional lava fountains.

Stefano Branca, head of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) in Catania recently said Etna's activity was similar to the more than 200 eruptions seen since 1998 and there was no risk for the people and cities around the mountain.
