Ithaca Police investigate death of man found under bridge

ITHACA, N.Y. (WETM) – Police in Ithaca are investigating the death of a man who was found underneath a bridge yesterday evening.

According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers were called to the area of Cecil A. Malone Drive near the intersection of Mary Street at 5:12 p.m. on Monday, Feb.12, after receiving a report of a person underneath the bridge who was unconscious and not breathing.

Police investigate Sunday afternoon shooting in Tioga County

Bangs Ambulance Company, the Ithaca Fire Department and investigators from the Ithaca Police Department and Tompkins County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene to assist, and upon arrival, determined that the person was dead.

The person has been identified as a 37-year-old male, whose name has not been released at this time. He was transported to the Cayuga Medical Center and turned over to the Tompkins County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
