Itron: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. (AP) _ Itron Inc. (ITRI) on Monday reported a third-quarter loss of $25.4 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Liberty Lake, Washington-based company said it had a loss of 63 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 61 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 23 cents per share.

The energy and water meter company posted revenue of $540.2 million in the period.

Itron shares have declined 19% since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 11% in the last 12 months.
