ITV's McDonald & Dodds gets exciting update on season 4

ITV crime drama McDonald & Dodds has started filming its fourth season in Bath, it's been confirmed.
The show follows two detectives – the fiercely ambitious DCI McDonald (Tala Gouveia) and the shy DS Dodds (Jason Watkins) – as they solve a series of puzzling crimes in the city of Bath.
Confirming that filming for season four is now underway, commissioner Huw Kennair Jones said in a statement. "We’re thrilled to be returning to the beautiful city of Bath for more original and inventive crimes for McDonald and Dodds to solve."

He added: "And it’s great to be working with Mammoth Screen, Robert Murphy and Tala and Jason once again on what promises to be another brilliant series."
The first episode of season four will follow McDonald and Dodds as they investigate the death of a middle-aged woman who was found shot dead in a rented flat, after being missing for 35 years.
Lost in Space's Toby Stephens is set to guest star in this feature-length episode, along with Lydia Leonard (Gentleman Jack), Daniel Lapaine (Queen of Oz), Dipo Ola (Landscapers), John Gordon Sinclair (Gregory’s Girl) and Ace Bhatti (Line of Duty).

The Voice Kids coach Pixie Lott will also appear in the episode, which is written by Robert Murphy and directed by Khurrum M. Sultan.
Aside from Gouveia and and Watkins, other returning cast members for season four include Outnumbered's Claire Skinner as Chief Superintendent Ormond and former EastEnders star Charlie Chambers as DC Goldie.
Meanwhile, War of the Worlds and Years and Years actor Bhavik C Pankhania has joined the main cast in the role of DC Lee.
