IU football now at 10 in portal as Miles Marshall, Camron Buckley, Jordyn Williams enter names

Indiana redshirt junior wide receiver Miles Marshall, graduate transfer wide receiver Camron Buckley and freshman wide receiver Jordyn Williams entered the NCAA transfer portal Monday, a source confirmed to the Herald-Times, increasing the number of former Indiana players currently in the portal to 10.

Marshall is the highest-profile potential departure so far from an Indiana squad that finished a disappointing 2-10 overall, 0-9 in the Big Ten after beginning the season ranked in the Top 25. The 6-4, 212-pound starter from Georgia caught 22 passes for 311 yards this season, which put him third on Indiana's roster in both categories behind wide receiver Ty Fryfogle and tight end Peyton Hendershot.

Insider: Tom Allen moved fast in firing OC. His next move could make or break his IU tenure.

He finishes his Indiana career with 57 passes for 797 yards and two touchdowns. Marshall took part in senior day festivities before Indiana's game against Minnesota on Nov. 20.

Marshall shared a photo posing during that senior day moment with the caption, "Appreciate my 4 years here at IU. I’ve grown into a man and made memories and relationships that will last forever. #LEO"

Fryfogle is out of eligibility. Hendershot could take a sixth year because of the COVID-19 blanket waiver of eligibility for the 2020 season, but he has not indicated he will return. Fryfogle, Hendershot and Marshall were the only three Indiana players who caught more than 15 passes this season.

Buckley caught three passes for 20 yards in two appearances for Indiana this season before missing the rest of the year due to injury. He came to the Hoosiers after four years at Texas A&M in which he caught 62 passes for 877 yards and four touchdowns. He would have to claim this year as a redshirt season to earn a sixth year.

Williams, a three-star recruit, played in two games this season. At season's end, he was practicing with both defensive backs and wide receivers.

Marshall, Williams and Buckley are the ninth, 10th and 11th Indiana players to enter the portal since the beginning of preseason camp. Running back Sampson James transferred to Purdue in August. Still in the portal are running back Tim Baldwin Jr., wide receivers Da'Shaun Brown and Jacolby Hewitt, tight end Khameron Taylor, defensive tackle C.J. Person, defensive end D.K. Bonhomme and cornerback Larry Tracy III.

Baldwin rushed for 103 yards this season but transferred after fumbles at critical times early in the season. Hewitt caught eight passes for 47 yards. Person recorded four tackles and Bonhomme recorded one. Brown was hurt to start the season and neither Taylor nor Tracy saw much action before deciding to transfer.
