IU's Micah McFadden named second-team All-Big Ten

Indiana senior linebacker Micah McFadden was named second-team All-Big Ten by the conference's media and coaches, the Big Ten announced Tuesday. He was the Hoosiers only representative on the All-Big Ten team after a disappointing 2-10 finish, including an 0-9 mark in Big Ten games. It's the second straight year for McFadden to be named All-Big Ten.

McFadden finished third in the Big Ten in tackles for loss with 15.5. Those tackles accounted for 100 lost yards for opponents, which is the highest figure for any individual Big Ten defender.

McFadden also finished seventh in the Big Ten with 6.5 sacks and led Indiana with 77 tackles. He had three pass break-ups and five quarterback hurries and caused two fumbles.

McFadden, who was the lowest-rated recruit in Indiana's 2018 recruiting class, has recorded 216 career tackles including 37.0 for loss, 14 sacks and four interceptions. An All-American in 2020, McFadden has a year of eligibility remaining because of the COVID-19 blanket waiver for 2020, but he said after Saturday's loss to Purdue that he has not decided whether to use it or to enter the NFL draft.

Defensive end Ryder Anderson and cornerback Jaylin Williams were honorable mentions by the Big Ten media. Anderson recorded 3.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss. Williams led the Hoosiers and finished tied for third in the Big Ten with 11 pass break-ups
