SOUTH BEND — Indiana University South Bend Chancellor Susan Elrod will address the League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area at the organization’s September Lunch with the League on Zoom event at noon Sept. 8.

IUSB serves an eight-county region in Indiana and several southwestern Michigan counties and offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees. More than 80% of enrolled students are from the region, and 65% stay in the region when they graduate.

Elrod’s talk will provide an up-to-date overview of the university, its current priorities and significant community engagement initiatives.

She is an experienced biology professor, university administrator, and national leader in STEM higher education and systemic change leadership.

She has more than 20 publications on topics ranging from undergraduate research to systemic change and leadership, as well as several scientific publications and patents, including the recent release of “The Change Leadership Toolkit.”

Elrod holds a doctorate in genetics from the University of California, Davis and an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from California State University, Chico.
