Ivan Bates has big ambitions for city state's attorney's office

Ivan Bates stepped into office Tuesday with a big ambitions. The new Baltimore City state's attorney was sworn in and outlined his priorities, saying he is focused, prepared and ready to do the job. Bates told 11 News in an interview on Monday said the city can expect big changes once he takes office. Inauguration speakers called Bates a skilled attorney and a tremendous leader. In his own address, the 54-year-old former defense attorney said his office is focused on illegal guns. The seats inside the War Memorial were filled by scores of state and local leaders, including the current and former mayors.
