Izzy's SF Spices Up Summer With Seasonal Cocktails & To-Go Kits

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As California restaurants deal with indoor-dining crackdowns during the coronavirus pandemic, many are updating their to-go repertoire to keep business going — including Izzy's Steakhouse in San Francisco.

The legendary, family-owned establishment, at 3345 Steiner St., recently amped up its summer offerings with a slew of signature sips and a variety of gourmet meal kits to-go.

The eatery's Summer Cocktail Menu boasts impressive, innovative concoctions, with credit going to Peggy Boston, Izzy’s beverage coordinator. Batched Cocktail Kits, which serve four to six, also are available.

"I hope our Summer Cocktail Menu and Batched Cocktail Kits will allow customers to bring that feeling of camaraderie and escape to wherever they might be enjoying an Izzy’s cocktail,” said Boston. “I truly enjoy the creative process and this work allows me to express myself on many levels, both personally and professionally.”

Among her 10 newly added offerings are: "Bourbon-Bonal Breeze" with Four Roses Bourbon whiskey, Bonal Gentiane-Quina, fresh orange juice, cane syrup and mint; and the "Naked and Famous" with Del Maguey Chichicapa Mezcal, Yellow Chartreuse liqueur, Aperol and lime juice.

Boston honed her mixology skills after decades of international industry experience. Due to San Francisco's charm and history, she eventually was drawn to the city and then to Izzy's SF — an eatery with neighborhood, landmark status after more than 30 years in the Marina District, with roots that can be traced back even further to its Barbary Coast saloon days.

The restaurant's sister establishment on Skyway Road in San Carlos, which opened 15 years ago, now is offering on-site dining with a newly built patio that seats 26.

Both locations offer curbside pick-up and delivery options. Izzy's SF patrons can order online or call (415) 563-0487 for takeout. San Carlos customers can call (650) 654-2822 or order online here.

To-go offerings, from San Carlos and San Francisco, include batch and specialty cocktails, beer, wine and a menu of starters, salads, steaks, chops, seafood, kids' entrees, sides, desserts and meal kits.

The ready-to-grill kits come in such options as: the $48 "Burgers For Four," with four, raw 8-ounce, Angus beef patties, tomato, Vermont cheddar, lettuce, housemade potato chips, caramelized onion jam and four Boudin Brioche buns; or the $100 "Filet For Four," featuring two large Caesar salads, four 6-ounce, Black Angus filet mignons, plus a choice of four sides and Izzy’s Cajun-spice butter.
