Wait, I can’t stop thinking about how perfect these expensive-looking J.Crew Mary Janes are
For most of my childhood, my mom put me in two different shoes: jelly sandals for summer and Mary Janes for the rest of the year. Unlike most kids who tried to wriggle their way out of the clothes their parents put them in, I frickin’ loved my shoes — especially my (many) pretty Mary Janes.
Imagine the utter joy that flooded my veins when I saw the very expensive-looking, grown-up J.Crew Layla Slingback Mary Jane Heels. While the lug sole and rounded-toe Mary Janes of my youth still have my whole heart, these sleek Mary Jane slingbacks are the actual update I need.

The J.Crew Layla Slingback Mary Jane Heels come in four different styles — including a super fun cheetah print and gorgeous gold (which are on sale!). I’ve already ordered them in the black pictured above because, duh. Honestly, though, I may just have to buy them all!!
As far as styling goes, the options are endless. And I already have a few outfit pairings in mind, including classic straight-leg jeans, white tee and leather jacket combo. I also plan on wearing them with frilly ankle socks and a plaid mini-skirt. Again, endless options!
OK, but this gold pair of Mary Janes are ideal for any holiday look.
And the reviews are just making me more impatient. One J.Crew shopper wrote that the J.Crew Mary Janes are a “winner” — which I never doubted. “The leather is lovely and the shoe itself is very well designed. It’s a very comfortable shoe,” they wrote.
I also definitely plan on taking the same reviewer’s styling ideas to heart: “I think it would be an easy shoe to add detachable crystals or bows to and give the shoe a lot of different looks.” Ugh, how fun?!
So, yeah, you should definitely get your hands on a pair of these J.Crew Mary Janes. You know, if you want to feel an ounce of joy this season.
