Ja’Marr Chase passes Randy Moss for some NFL history after win vs. Steelers

It might seem like it’s too early to throw Ja’Marr Chase’s name in the same sentence as Randy Moss.

But it’s not.

Chase scored two touchdowns on Sunday during his Cincinnati Bengals’ upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. That puts him at four over his first three pro games after he scored one from 40-plus yards out in each of his first two games.

And that’s good for some NFL history. According to NFL Research, Chase is the youngest player in NFL history to have four or more touchdown catches over his team’s first three games.

The prior record-holder? Randy Moss.

Not bad for Chase, who had to shrug off some drop issues from the preseason. Those have completely evaporated, as he’s yet to drop a pass at all. He apparently only catches touchdowns, which is pretty wild for a rookie who said he wants to shatter every Bengals receiving record on the books — he might just do that.
