Ja Morant gifted with custom diamond pendant, signature Nike shoes for NBA All-Star Game

Ja Morant's second All-Star trip promises to be better than last year now that Nike is pushing him as its newest signature shoe superstar. It's already off to a good start.

On Friday, Nike gifted the Memphis Grizzlies guard with a custom diamond pendant from Icebox Diamonds and Watches, a jewelry store based in Atlanta. The pendant is shaped with Ja's custom triangle-shaped logo from Nike that was unveiled with his 'Ja 1' signature shoe on Christmas Day.

Nike also presented him with a black "Midnight" pair of his Ja 1 shoes for Sunday's All-Star game that are also iced out. In the clip, Morant, his family and friends were visibly excited reacting to both the chain and the shoes, which will likely be featured during Sunday's game.

The color is a nod to Morant's motivation before the 21-22 season about working in the dark - meaning very few social media posts that summer - to improve his game. It's also a nod to Morant's late night workouts with "12 AM" on the front laces and "It's 12 AM Somewhere" on the bottom sole.

It's not the only thing Nike has done for Morant this weekend. In Salt Lake City, there's a personalized "Mount 12skii" pop-up shop where fans can look at the Ja 1s before their release date in April. There's also a statue of Morant in ice, perhaps a nod to how much Morant loves his jewelry.

It's all just a taste of how Morant will be part of Nike's big push at the All-Star Game and how he's become an even bigger superstar than last year when he made his first All-Star start.
