Jack Dorsey Bets on Crypto Investor Candidate for 2020 Nod
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has a horse in the 2020 political race. That’s Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, an Iraq War combat veteran and anti-war candidate for the Democratic nomination. There’s something else that sets her apart from the rest of the wide Democratic field.
Gabbard is an early adopter of cryptocurrency. She disclosed last August that she had invested between $1,000 and $15,000 in Ethereum and Litecoin. Dorsey has maxed out his political contributions to Gabbard’s campaign, BuzzFeed reported.

Jack Dorsey’s Political Views, an Enigma
Not much is known about Jack Dorsey’s political views. He has said that his father was a “conservative Republican.” His social media platform, however, has come under fire for censoring conservative voices. Critics say Twitter is not evenhanded in the enforcement of its terms of service and suspends conservative accounts for violations that progressive ones are more likely to get away with.
But Dorsey did stick up for Twitter’s conservative employees in an interview last September with NYU’s Jay Rosen for Recode Media. He agreed that Twitter is tilted so far left that it’s “unfair” to his conservative employees:
“We have a lot of conservative-leaning folks in the company as well, and to be honest, they don’t feel safe to express their opinions at the company. They do feel silenced by just the general swirl of what they perceive to be the broader percentage of leanings within the company, and I don’t think that’s fair or right.”
Tulsi Gabbard, Andrew Yang Are Crypto Proponents
FEC records for Tulsi NOW reveal that Jack Dorsey maxed out his political contributions to Tulsi Gabbard’s campaign. He gave the maximum $2,800 to Gabbard’s primary campaign fund and another $2,800 to her general election campaign. He also liked several of her tweets in the hours after the first Democratic debate in Miami.
