Jack Whitehall and David Duchovny have landed roles in Malice, a new series from Prime Video.

As per Variety, the pair will be joined by Game of Thrones star Carice van Houten for the series, which is said to follow a young man (Whitehall) who looks to infiltrate the world of a wealthy family, which are headed by Duchovny’s and van Houten’s characters.

The psychological thriller is being written and produced by James Wood, best known for his work on Rev and The Great, with production being handled by Expectation Entertainment and Tailspin Films.

Whitehall, who started his career in stand-up comedy before transitioning to sitcoms such as Bad Education, has turned to acting in recent years, with his roles including Disney’s Jungle Cruise and Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Duchovny, who has had iconic television roles in The X Files and Californication, recently starred alongside Meg Ryan for What Happens Later, which followed an ex-couple as they take a trip down memory lane whilst stuck in an airport.

Van Houten played Melisandre on seven seasons in Game of Thrones, which has since introduced a spin-off, House of the Dragon, to George RR Martin’s world.

Meanwhile, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss recently cooled the speculation regarding a Jon Snow spin-off.

“It would be so great; nothing would make us happier than to work with our people from that show,” Weiss told The Hollywood Reporter. “But there are a lot of other ways to make that happen that are fresh and exciting for everyone involved.

“Also, unless Kit [Harington] has been doing a lot of working out, that's a really heavy cloak for a guy in his 40s to carry around – it's like 60 pounds. Maybe when we're 80 and Kit's approaching retirement, he can throw that cloak on again with real grey in his beard.”

There is currently no release date for Malice.
