"Hidden Strike," a Chinese action-comedy film starring Jackie Chan and John Cena, just got its first official trailer.

Directed by Scott Waugh, who most recently directed "The Expendables 4," and produced by XYZ Films, "Hidden Strike" follows ex-special forces soldiers Jackie Luo (Chan) and Chris Van Horne (Cena) tasked with escorting a group of oil refinery employees to safety amidst an attempt by attackers to steal its oil. Joining Chan and Cena are Pilou Asbæk, Amadeus Serafini, Minghao Hou and Zhenwei Wang.

Originally titled "Snafu" or "Project X-Traction," the film originally began filming in June of 2018, during which Cena lived in China.

“Jackie’s presence is undeniable. His energy doesn’t stop. His process never stops. It’s going to be so special. Not only will we make a good movie, I’m going to learn so much.” Cena told the Hollywood Reporter at the time.

After filming wrapped at the end of 2018, however, no further news was released about the movie, leaving many to wonder whether the project would ever see the light of day.

Although an exact release date has not been announced, the film is slated for late 2023.
