Jackson High School distance runners Alex Zuckett and Sofia Istnick have signed national letters of intent to run cross country and track in college,
Zuckett will run at Ohio University. Istnick is heading to William & Mary,
Zuckett will end his high school career as a four-year letterwi in cross country and track. He holds the Polar Bears' 5K record in cross country and has two All-Ohio finishes at the state meet. He is a three-time first team All-Federal League selection, a four-time All-Stark County selection, a four-time Division I state qualifier and a three-time Academic All-Ohio recipient.
With Zuckett helping to lead the way, the Jackson cross country and track teams have won four Federal League championships, two Stark County championships and two district titles. The cross country team won multiple team titles and finished seventh at the state meet this season.
Istnick will also end her high school career as a four-year letterwinner in cross country and track. She owns the Polar Bears' 5K record in cross country, is a three-time Federal League MVP, a five-time Division I state qualifier, a two-time All-Ohio runner and a three-time Academic All-Ohio recipient.
A multiple first team All-Federal League selection in both sports, Istnick has helped lead the Jackson cross country and track programs to five league championships, four Stark County titles and two district championships. Her cross country team won multiple meets and finished ninth at the state meet this season.
