Jackson Rockabillys host exhibition game as UT Vols snag win over Memphis Tigers

The University of Memphis Tigers in their last official game of the season faced on Sunday the University of Tennessee Volunteers Baseball team at the Jackson Rockabillys Stadium.

For the first time in Jackson history, the Jackson Rockabillys hosted the collegiate exhibition game with presenting partner Yukon Outfitters. The 18-inning scrimmage ended with the Vols beating the Tigers.

"We are honored and privileged to be able to bring this momentous event to Jackson," said Rockabillys CEO and President Dennis Bastien said before the game.

"This is truly a unique opportunity to see, in person, two of the premier college baseball programs in the country go head-to-head at our beautiful stadium. Yes, right here in Jackson!"

Steve DeSalvo, Rockabillys general manager, also said he was thrilled to host the game, the first high-profile game under new management.

"We are thrilled to be able to host this game at our stadium, as the very first major baseball game to be played under our new ownership and management," DeSalvo said. "Not only are we excited to have Yukon Outfitters help make this all possible, but we are also excited that Forever Communications and Thomas Media have joined us as our media partners."

The Jackson Rockabillys are a member of the elite summer collegiate Prospect League and will begin play for the 2023 season. According to stadium officials, The Rockabillys are building family fun opportunities and working to make the Jackson Baseball Stadium an entertainment destination for all.
