Jackson State football coach T.C. Taylor is not wasting any time looking for high-profile athletes to replace 2022 No.1 recruit Travis Hunter. This week, the Tigers entertained former Nebraska wide receiver Decoldest Crawford, according to Light on College Sports. Crawford announced he was entering the transfer portal after the Cornhuskers hired Matt Rhule.

Crawford is a three-star athlete from Shreveport, Louisiana, who helped Green Oaks High School to three state playoff appearances. As a junior, he committed to LSU and later switched to Nebraska.

Playing on his first name, he signed an NIL deal with SOS Heating and Cooling in Omaha, Nebraska This summer, his commercial went viral.

Jackson State lost several playmakers to the transfer portal, with freshman four-star wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. transferring to Louisville.

Taylor signed 14 recruits during the early signing period. He hopes to announce his coaching staff soon.

Last season, JSU won the SWAC for the second consecutive season and played in the Cricket Celebration Bowl, losing to North Carolina Central 41-34.
