Jackson State women's basketball gets 14 seed in NCAA Women's Tournament, will face LSU

Jackson State women's basketball was selected as a No. 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play at No. 3 LSU in the first round on Saturday.

It's the second NCAA Tournament appearance in a row for the Lady Tigers under coach Tomekia Reed, who took over in 2018. Reed was named SWAC Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

Jackson State (23-6), which finished 18-0 in SWAC play, is riding a 21 game win streak. The Lady Tigers went 3-6 in non-conference play, but kept matchups against Miami, Arkansas, and Mississippi State close.

LSU (25-6) of the SEC has had a bounce back season under new coach Kim Mulkey.
