What Jackson stores are open on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday?

Black Friday starts the Friday after Thanksgiving, but every year certain stores allow their customers to get a head start on some holiday shopping, announcing big online spending deals on Thanksgiving Thursday, while most brick-and-mortar locations other than grocery stores will be closed.

Black Friday is also one of the busiest U.S. shopping days of the year, and it is right around the corner. So, to get you prepared, here's a list of stores and malls that will be open or closed on Thanksgiving Day and open on Black Friday, with their shopping hours:

Retail stores:

Best Buy

Best Buy

The electronics store will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday.

Kohl's

The Flowood location will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will be open early at 5 a.m. and going until midnight on Black Friday.

Dick's Sporting Goods

The sports supply store in both the Flowood and Madison locations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Both will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday.

Target

The Target department stores in Flowood and Jackson will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open earlier than normal, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday. Target is always closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Walmart

The superstores in Madison, Flowood, Ridgeland, Jackson, Byram, and Clinton locations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will have normal store hours on Black Friday, opening at 6 a.m.

Sam's Club

The stores in Madison and Pearl will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Black Friday. The stores close early on the day before Thanksgiving at 6 p.m.

Barnes & Noble

The bookstore will be closed Thanksgiving Day and open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday.

Home Depot

The Jackson, Clinton, Brandon and Madison home improvement stores will be closed Thanksgiving Day and open as normal from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m on Black Friday. Store hours there are subject to change.

Lowe's

The home improvement store locations in Madison and Flowood will be closed Thanksgiving Day and both open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday. Some departments could open as early as 5 a.m.

PetSmart

The pet supply store locations will be closed Thanksgiving Day and open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday.

T.J. Maxx

The department store will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Black Friday.

Grocery stores:

Kroger

The grocery store chain, with locations in Jackson along I-55, as well as Madison, Ridgeland, Brandon, Pearl, Flowood, Clinton and Byram, will be open as normal the day before Thanksgiving and open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Black Friday, the stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Whole Foods

The high-end and specialty and organic grocery will be open on 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday.

Malls:

Outlets of Mississippi

The Pearl mall will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and reopen from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday.

Renaissance at Colony Park

The retail stores in the outdoor mall in Ridgeland will be closed on Thanksgiving and will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Black Friday. Some stores may vary their hours. The retail hours the day before Thanksgiving are shortened, with stores closing at 5 p.m. All of the restaurants are closed on Thanksgiving, but Fresh Market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Northpark Mall

Northpark did not respond to requests for special holiday hours. Confirm hours with individual stores as hours may vary.

Highland Village

The upscale shopping center, home to Red Square, Warby Parker, Lululemon and Masion Weiss will be closed on Thanksgiving and have normal hours (10am-6pm) for Black Friday. Some stores such as Whole Foods, Trustmark and Chevron may vary their hours.
