Here are the area’s top high school performers from Jan. 23-28. Top performers are based off the results sent in by coaches.

Saturday

Boys wrestling

Carter Duhon, Southwest: At 113, Duhon defeated Louisburg’s Brandon Raya via a 9-0 major decision in a 68-12 first-round playoff team win and earned a pin over his Webb opponent in a 60-18 second-round win.

Peter Hoult, Southwest: At 285, Hoult pinned Louisburg’s Elijah Dixon in 1:10 and pinned Webb’s Antonio Alston.

Jensen Miller, Southwest: At 132, Miller pinned Louisburg’s Melvin Ortiz in one minute and at 138, pinned Webb’s Tristan’s Younkin.

Jason Rodriguez, Southwest: At 182, Rodriguez pinned Louisburg’s Zachary Castaneda in 3:14 and also pinned Webb’s Nichlas Harris.

Tanner Whitehead, Southwest: At 195, Whitehead pinned Louisburg’s Jaeden Kearny in 20 seconds and pinned Webb’s Nate Brewer.

Brayden Cline, Swansboro: At 220, Cline pinned Westover’s Julian Clifton in 4:47 in a 60-24 first-round playoff team win and won via a 9-0 major decision over Person’s Gavin Jones in a 50-12 second-round win.

Tyler Cowell, Swansboro: At 126, Cowell pinned Westover’s Diego Lopez in 34 seconds and pinned Person’s Dior Burns in 34 seconds.

Ayden Goodman, Swansboro: At 120, Goodman pinned Westover’s Ayonna McNeil in 1:28 and defeated Person’s Christian Lemaire 9-8.

Jacob McEwen, Swansboro: At 170, McEwen pinned Westover’s NaZiah Rice in 3:10 and at 182, defeated Person’s Malakai New man 3-2.

Klint Rhude, Swansboro: At 145, Rhude pinned Westover’s Jose Ortiz in 1:52 and pinned Person’s Ryan Dollar in 44 seconds.

Paul Vaught, Swansboro: At 106, Vaught pinned Westover’s Connor Dean in two minutes and pinned Person’s Fabian Rivera in 1:56.

Theodore Yager, Swansboro: At 152, Yager pinned Westover’s Braydon Forehand in four minutes and at 160, pinned Person’s Easton McLain in 1:57.

Boys basketball

Luke Green, Croatan: The junior had 13 points and five rebounds in a 62-56 win over Dixon.

Trey Jones, Croatan: The sophomore had 16 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Holden Martin, Croatan: The junior had 10 points, three steals and two rebounds.

Jayden Butler, Northside: The senior had 10 points, 12 rebounds and two assists in a 61-54 loss to J.H. Rose.

Jordan Johnson, Northside: The senior had nine points and eight rebounds.

Savion Pepper, Northside: The junior had 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Xavier Ritter, Northside: The sophomore had 22 points and three steals.

Jamison Avila, White Oak: The sophomore scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter in a 62-55 win over West Carteret.

C.J. Jackson, White Oak: The sophomore scored 16 points.

Zack Noel, White Oak: The junior scored 16 points.

Neely McMannen, Croatan: The freshman scored 13 points in a 37-30 loss to Dixon.

Mykenzie Langston, Dixon: The junior had six points and five steals in a 37-30 win over Croatan.

Addi O’Brien, Dixon: The junior had four points and six steals.

Courtney Silance, Dixon: The sophomore had seven points and 12 rebounds.

Oriyanna Galloway, Southwest: The sophomore had nine points, five steals, three rebounds and three assists in a 70-34 win over Kinston.

Yamore Hardison, Southwest: The junior had 13 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Armani Reid, Southwest: The senior had 27 points, nine assists, five rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Jayma Avila, White Oak: The senior scored eight points in a 45-27 loss to West Carteret.

Derrick Benbow, Living Water Christian: The junior had 20 points, three rebounds and three assists in a 99-85 loss to New Life Christian.

Bo Koebbe, Living Water Christian: The junior had 11 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.

Dino Loyd, Living Water Christian: The sophomore had 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Christopher Marshburn, Living Water Christian: The senior had 18 points and four rebounds.

Ireione Seright, Living Water Christian: The junior had 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Rue Chapman, Southwest: The sophomore had 21 points, six rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocks in a 62-59 win over East Duplin.

Ginger Hayden, Croatan: The senior scored 14 points, including two free throws with 1.1 seconds left in overtime, in a 34-33 win over Swansboro.

Oriyanna Galloway, Southwest: The sophomore had 10 points, five rebounds and four steals in a 47-25 win over East Duplin.

Yamorie Hardison, Southwest: The junior had 10 points eight steals, five rebounds and four assists.

Armani Reid, Southwest: The senior had 14 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks.

Ashlynn Cook, Swansboro: The junior scored 10 points in a 34-33 overtime loss to Croatan.

Erica Johnson, Swansboro: The senior scored 13 points.

Girls wrestling

Angelica Steffy, Croatan: Steffy won via a 12-0 major decision over Swansboro’s Sophia Sutton to win the first-place match in the 138-pound division in the NCHSAA Eastr Regional championships at Havelock.

Anabel Rodriguez, Dixon: Rodriguez defeated Trask’s Kelly Sanchez via a pin in 231 to win the first-place match of the 120-pound weight class to help the Bulldogs finish second in the team competition.

Maggie Milbery, Swansboro: Milbery defeated Millbrook’s Lara Gonzales 3-0 in the 145 first-place match to help the Pirates finish fifth in the team standings.

Amaree Barber, Jacksonville: The junior scored 13 points in a 62-53 win over New Bern.

Michael Carlock, Jacksonville: The junior scored 16 points.

Robert Alexander, White Oak: Alexander earned a 15-2 major decision over West Carteret’s Bryce May at 120 in the Vikings’ 39-35 loss to the Patriots.

Drache Gooch, White Oak: Gooch defeated West Carteret’s John Schulz via a 9-1 major decision at 160.

Jayden Nickleberry, White Oak: Nickleberry defeated West Carteret’s Ashton McRoberts 6-3 at 170.

Jeffrey Owens, White Oak: Owens pinned West Carteret’s Braden Reynolds in 1:56 at 145.

Gavin Wolfe, White Oak: Wolfe pinned West Carteret’s Isaac McPherson in 5:08 in 285.
