The Jacksonville Humane Society and Pet Smart Charities work togther for pet adoptions this weekend

The Jacksonville Humane Society is hosting an event with PetSmart Charities® at two PetSmart locations on Saturday, July 16, and Sunday, July 17, to coincide with National Adoption Week.

The Jacksonville Humane Society is inviting those interested in meeting adoptable pets to spend time with animals in need of loving homes. Staff and volunteers will help potential adopters learn about caring for a pet and the types of tools, products and services they may need.

“Both Jacksonville shelters are at capacity right now,” said Denise Deisler, CEO of the Jacksonville Humane Society. “This adoption event could not have come at a better time and we are so appreciative of PetSmart Charities’ support.”

“National Adoption Week is an ideal opportunity to give a pet what they need most – people to love,” said Heidi Fulcher, Adoptions Grant Manager at PetSmart Charities. “Over the years, together with local partners such as the Jacksonville Humane Society, we’ve matched more than 10 million pets with loving homes. Globally, people say their pets are important family members that enhance their lives, too. That’s a win-win!”

Adoptable pets will be available at the following times and PetSmart locations:

July 16 – July 17 between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
