Turning point: Newcomer Brendan Harris scored the game-winning goal in overtime, leading the Jacksonville Icemen past the South Carolina Stingrays 1-0 on Saturday night at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, a game marred by allegations against Icemen defenseman Jacob Panetta of making a racist gesture toward South Carolina's Jordan Subban.

Three stars: 1. Justin Kapelmaster, Jacksonville (27 saves). 2. Harris, Jacksonville (one goal). 3. Ryan Bednard, South Carolina (32 saves).

Penalty box: Panetta was accused of making a monkey gesture toward Subban after a fight, which ultimately led to Jacksonville's Panetta and South Carolina's Nico Blachman picking up 27 penalty minutes apiece and double game misconducts.

Around the rink: Harris, in his first game for the first-place Icemen (22-9-2-1) after arriving from the Wheeling Nailers, scored 2:33 into the extra session off assists from Abbott Girduckis and Ben Hawerchuk. ...
