The Jacksonville Jaguars have 21 players set to hit free agency this upcoming March.

With a new head coach yet to be named, the Jaguars will have plenty of decisions to make before free agency signing period begins March 16 and the franchise tag/transition player designation begins Feb. 22-March 8.

He is a closer look at all 21 Jaguars players who will become free agents.

LB Tyrell Adams

Previous contract AAV: $ 1 million

The Jaguars signed Adams to the active roster on Dec. 28 from the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad, and he played in two games and totaled three tackles. Adams previously played for the Seahawks and Texans, and whether the Jaguars push to re-sign him will depend on the new head coach and his staff and how they plan to improve the depth at the position.

LB Dakota Allen

Previous contract AAV: $540k

Allen struggled with injuries this season and despite playing in 14 games, he totaled nine tackles. He had 18 tackles in 13 games last season. He does provide value as a special teams player.

WR Tavon Austin

Previous contract AAV: $1 million

Austin never appeared to be on the same page with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, often running the wrong route or having a miscommunication issue.

DT Taven Bryan

Previous contract AAV: $2.5 million

When the Jaguars declined to pick up Bryan's fifth-year option in May, it likely sealed his fate with the franchise. Bryan did not live up to the expectations as the 2018 29th overall pick. After 63 career games, Bryan totaled 5.5 sacks. He was a healthy scratch in the regular-season finale against the Colts.

RG A.J. Cann

Previous contract AAV: $5 million

Cann started the first four games of the season before he was lost for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke will likely stick with the cheaper option with second-year guard Ben Bartch, who filled in nicely in Cann's absence. Cann could return if he's willing to accept a potential veteran minimum contract.

WR DJ Chark

Previous contract AAV: $1.1 million

One of the critical offseason objectives for the Jaguars is going to be putting more weapons around Lawrence. The wide receiver position is in serious need of an upgrade. The Jaguars still view Chark as a playmaker and will likely extend him a short-term contract to remain. He suffered a fractured ankle injury in Week 4 against Cincinnati and missed the remainder of the season.

WR Terry Godwin

Previous contract AAV: $610K

Godwin landed on injured reserve and the Jaguars never activated him. Godwin will likely explore free agency to find a team where he can get a better shot at playing time.

DT Adam Gotsis

Previous contract AAV: $1.1 million

Gotsis showed more potential than Bryan over the past two seasons. But whether it leads to him getting re-signed will be up to Baalke and the new head coach. He started three games in 2021 and had three sacks and 27 tackles.

CB Tre Herndon

Previous contract AAV: $2 million

Herndon is likely to look for a new start with another franchise. He struggled with a knee injury and lost hold of the starting nickel cornerback job to Rudy Ford.

TE Jacob Hollister

Previous contract AAV: $990K

He didn't make a big enough impact to warrant getting an extension. He made nine catches for 55 yards in seven games. The Jaguars need a significant upgrade at tight end.

CB Nevin Lawson

Previous contract AAV: $1.2 million

Lawson played well enough as a backup to probably warrant strong consideration from the Jaguars to extend him a veterans minimum contract.

LB Lerentee McCray

Previous contract AAV: $990K

McCray's chance of getting re-signed by the Jaguars probably ended with his arrest following a high-speed chase with the Fruitland Park police last Sunday. McCray displayed erratic behavior that included trying to pump gas into a police car, according to police records.

LG Andrew Norwell

Previous contract AAV: $13.3 million

The Jaguars need to upgrade their offensive line, and Norwell probably will not be a part of the rebuilding plans with the yet-to-be-named new head coach.

RB Dare Ogunbowale

Previous contract AAV: $675K

With James Robinson suffering a torn Achilles tendon in Week 16 against the Jets and rookie Travis Etienne missing the entire season due to a Lisfranc injury, Ogunbowale will likely be extended a contract as a restricted free agent.

OT Will Richardson Jr.

Previous contract AAV: $765K

Richardson is likely to test the free agency market for a swing tackle, and the feelings could be mutual with the Jaguars. A priority for Richardson is probably finding a franchise where he could have a better chance of starting.

LT Cam Robinson

Previous contract AAV: $13.7 million

For the Jaguars, making a push to keep Robinson possibly will be one of their most crucial offseason decisions. Does it make sense to designate Robinson with the franchise tag for the second consecutive season? If they let Robinson hit the free agency market, he is likely to get a long-term deal with another franchise. Would they switch Walker Little to right tackle if the franchise tag is applied or the Jaguars sign Robinson to an extension?

LB Chapelle Russell

Previous contract AAV: $695K

Russell, a backup linebacker, mainly played on special teams. He is likely to pursue free agency because the Jaguars are not likely to make a significant push to sign him.

C-G Tyler Shatley

Previous contract AAV: $2 million

He can play center and guard and started eight of 17 games in place of injured center Brandon Linder. The Jaguars will likely want to keep him around because of his versatility and experience.

DE Jihad Ward

Previous contract AAV: $2.5 million

If defensive coordinator Joe Cullen is retained, Ward would probably return. But Cullen is not likely to return, so Ward will be looking elsewhere to resume his NFL career.

Damien Wilson

Previous contract AAV: $2 million

Wilson was solid as a run stopper but struggled to cover tight ends in pass coverage. Regardless of who becomes the next head coach, the Jaguars need to maintain some of their defensive veterans and Wilson might become one of those players.

SS Andrew Wingard

Previous contract AAV: $586K

Wingard started ahead of 2021 third-round Andre Cisco. But Wingard's future in Jacksonville is likely as a backup, which is why he might look for an opportunity to start with another franchise in free agency.
