For more than 40 years, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival has brought some of jazz's biggest names — including Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr., Mavis Staples and many more — to Northeast Florida, from the festival's inaugural concert in 1980 at Mayport to Metropolitan Park to the downtown core.

The free, four-day festival is one of the city's biggest annual entertainment events, drawing as many as 131,000 attendees.

In 2023, the festival is back, set for Memorial Day weekend at a pair of riverfront sites in downtown Jacksonville. This year, festival headliners include Wynton Marsalis, Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, Charlie Wilson and more.

Where is the Jacksonville Jazz Festival?

The Jacksonville Jazz Festival will be on two stages, just a few blocks apart along the banks of the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville.

The Swingin’ Stage will be at Riverfront Plaza, where the Jacksonville Landing used to stand. The Groovin’ Stage will be at Ford on Bay, a vacant space on Bay Street where the old Duval County Courthouse used to stand.
