Jacksonville police: Man shot at apartment complex with non-life threatening injuries

Jacksonville police are looking to identify those involved in a shooting at an apartment complex Wednesday morning.

According to a news release from the Jacksonville Police Department, officers responded to a call at 9:30 a.m. about a person who had been found shot in the area of Arnold Road in Jacksonville. Officers found that Ruben Corley Jr., 19, of Jacksonville, had been shot at the Sandy Run apartment complex on Coleman Drive.

The release stated Corley fled the apartment complex after being shot, and requested a resident on Arnold Road to call for medical assistance. He was transported to the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

“At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident," said Investigative Services Supervisor Captain Mike Capps. "This investigation is still active and detectives are continuing to follow up on several leads, processing evidence from the scene and attempting to identify others involved.”
