JSO: Search for missing 46-year-old woman turns into murder investigation, suspect arrested
Update: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a murder investigation following a missing person report that tragically ended with the discovery of the 46-year-old woman’s deceased body.
On Saturday, July 8, 2023, authorities responded to a report of a missing adult, Rosemene Decius, in the 9000 block of Hampton Landing Drive East.
Concerned for her safety due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance and the lack of communication with her family, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office quickly initiated a search for the 46-year-old woman. Detectives from the Missing Persons Unit joined the patrol members in the area.
During the search, investigators thoroughly examined Ms. Decius’ residence, revealing signs of a struggle and raising suspicions of foul play. As a result, the Homicide and Crime Scene Units were called in to assist with the investigation.
Shortly thereafter, detectives discovered Ms. Decius’ abandoned vehicle and identified a person of interest in the case: Pierre Pinard, a 53-year-old male.
Tragically, the search for Ms. Decius ended with the discovery of her deceased body. The investigation swiftly progressed, leading to the apprehension of Pierre Pinard for the murder of Rosemene Decius.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office expressed its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the investigation, which ultimately resulted in the tragic outcome of locating Ms. Decius deceased. The authorities are dedicated to uncovering the full details surrounding this disturbing case and ensuring that justice is served.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for a missing adult under suspicious circumstances in the Southside area. The subject, Rosemene Decius, was reported missing by her family. We are concerned for her safety due to suspicious circumstances and the amount of time she has been missing. She is believed to be driving a 2018 Blue, BMW X3 bearing Florida License Plate ‘62B IBY’. Efforts to locate her at this time have been unsuccessful. We are asking for assistance in locating and ascertaining her safety.
