Jacksonville University expands to The Fountains in St. Johns County

Cross Regions Group, a prominent commercial real estate services company, has announced the groundbreaking of Jacksonville University’s latest location at The Fountains in St. Johns County.

This development marks Jacksonville University’s first learning site in St. Johns County and its second location beyond the Jacksonville area.

The 12,000-square-foot building will primarily serve as an educational facility for Jacksonville University’s esteemed healthcare sciences programs.

Dr. Christine Sapienza, Executive Vice President of Partnership and Development at Jacksonville University, expressed her enthusiasm for expanding the institution’s regional presence and bringing their highly sought-after healthcare sciences programs to The Fountains development in St. Johns County. Dr. Sapienza highlighted the strategic location of the site, situated in a rapidly-growing area and neighboring the renowned Ascension St. Vincent’s Health Center - St. Johns.

Jacksonville University’s Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences, known for its immersive, hands-on learning experiences and industry partnerships, aims to address the growing gap in primary care services and workforce shortages across critical healthcare disciplines.

Construction of the new facility will commence in May 2023, with an anticipated completion in Summer 2024.

The Fountains at St. Johns, developed by Cross Regions Group, is a mixed-use medical and retail development that includes the esteemed Ascension St. Vincent’s Health Center - St. Johns.

The development also encompasses various projects, such as a Home 2 Suites by Hilton hotel, upscale apartments, a facility for Chappell Schools, and a Town Square with retail and restaurant spaces. Additional future plans include an assisted living facility and a wellness center.

The development is situated on nearly 100 acres at the intersection of County Road 210 West and Interstate 95 in Northern St. Johns County.
