Jacob Blake pleaded not guilty to three charges including sexual assault on Friday — counts brought against him weeks before he was shot by police last month.
Appearing in court from his hospital bed via video conference, Blake, 29, waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Blake, seen publicly for the first time since he was shot, also gave a wave of his hand when the camera on his end of the video switched from attorney Patrick Cafferty to Blake. He answered several questions from court commissioner Loren Keating.
When Keating asked if he had any questions about the proceeding, Blake said, “Not at the moment, no I don’t.”
