Jacob Blake's Uncle Leads Protest Outside Kenosha Court as Jury Deliberates in Rittenhouse Trial

A brief protest was held outside the Kenosha County Courthouse in Wisconsin on Tuesday, November 16, as jury deliberations began to determine the verdict in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Rittenhouse is on trial for “reckless homicide, intentional homicide, and attempted intentional homicide” for killing two men and wounding a third during protests in Kenosha in August 2020. Closing arguments were delivered on Monday, media"reported":https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/kyle-rittenhouse-trial-closing-arguments-self-defense/.

These videos show protesters being led by Justin Blake, the uncle of Jacob Blake, who was shot by police prior to the August 2020 protests in Kenosha. The protesters call for justice for “Anthony and Jojo”, referring to Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum who were fatally shot by Rittenhouse.

If convicted, Rittenhouse faces life in prison on the first-degree intentional homicide charge, and up to 60 years on each of the other homicide-related charges.

As Kenosha waited for the verdict, Wisconsin Gov Tony Evers urged for “peace in Kenosha and across our state” regardless of the outcome of the trial. Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful
