Jacobs Chiropractic Clinic opens in Newcomerstown

NEWCOMERSTOWN - Sometimes, you can go home again.

Dr. Brett Jacobs is doing just that by opening a chiropractic practice at 243 W. State St. The Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting recently to note the opening of the new enterprise.

“I have always considered Newcomerstown to be my hometown,” Jacobs said. “It was where I was brought up and where the people responsible for my upbringing reside. Throughout the years of study, service, and sacrifice, it has been my goal to return and give back to the community that gave so much to me. Being officially greeted and acknowledged by the town, my family and friends felt like being welcomed back home. It is a moment I will not forget and am ever thankful for.”

Mayor Pat Cadle started his speech with "Welcome Back" and he noted that he had Jacobs as a student at Newcomerstown High School. “It is wonderful to see talent return to their hometown."

Chamber President Dee Stocker said the clinic is in the perfect location on State Street near the MediWise Pharmacy. She noted that because of recent retirements the Newcomerstown community had a strong need for a chiropractor. She said she was glad the need is filled with a hometown resident.

”My first impression was how warm and friendly the chamber and mayor have been. It was an awesome feeling hearing how others in the community are excited for the opening of my son’s office here in Newcomerstown," said Arlene Jacobs, Jacobs’ mother. "It was nice that they have encouraged and opened invitations for Brett to be involved with community activities.”

Jacobs’ office is open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The telephone number is 740-492-4382. He is on Facebook under Jacobs Chiropractic.

Jacobs said he is the adopted son of Arlene and the late Bob Jacobs, and the grandson of the late Robert and Joann Jacobs and the late Archie and Luella Gardner. His significant other is Sarah McNeal and he has four cats and counting (Winter, Sootsy, Zigzag and Basey). In his downtime, he enjoys the company of friends, nature walks, woodworking, crafting, and growing things (grapes and apple trees, mostly). In his spare time, he is trying to build a bed and breakfast/winery/cidery.

“Newcomerstown is my hometown,” Jacobs said. “It has always been my hope to return here and care for my community. I graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 2002, and have so many great memories of my years as a student.

“I am overjoyed for the opportunity to serve as an advocate for health and wellness within my community. It is my aim that Jacobs Chiropractic will serve as a positive addition to Newcomerstown and its surrounding areas.”
