Construction on the Jacksonville Jaguars' sports performance center is not expected to be completed until the start of the 2023 NFL season.

But the franchise already has landed a naming rights deal for the $120 million facility.

The Jaguars announced Monday a 10-year rights agreement with the Jacksonville-based Miller Electric Company but the franchise declined to say how much the deal is worth.

The team's new sports performance center will be called the "Miller Electric Center."

"It's an honor that a company with such deep roots in Jacksonville, dating back to 1928, will be synonymous with the success we envision for the Jaguars and Downtown Jacksonville in the years to come," Jaguars owner Shad Khan said in a statement.

"The Miller Electric Center will be at the epicenter of everything we do as a football team, as well as an organization, and we have great ambition on and off the field. I'm personally very grateful that Miller Electric is joining us and the entire Jacksonville community for the adventure ahead."

The Jaguars held a news conference Monday in Lot N to announce the agreement that was attended by Jaguars General Manager Trent Baalke, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry, Coach Doug Pederson, Councilman Samuel Newby, Miller Electric Company CEO Henry Brown and Khan.

Miller Electric has been a Jacksonville company for nearly a century

Founded in 1928, Miller Electric Company has grown from a local electrical contractor to a national company with more than 3,000 employees.

From its headquarters in Jacksonville and network of branch offices, the company provides comprehensive electrical and technology solutions to local and national clients in a diversified range of industries. Miller Electric Company has a long and storied history with the Jaguars organization, having contributed to every major construction project since the team's inception, including the original stadium construction (1993), the locker room renovation (2012), the north deck expansion (2014) and the construction of Daily's Place (2017).

"We are honored and excited to expand our partnership with the Jaguars through the Miller Electric Center," Brown said in a statement. "The Jaguars' continuous investment in downtown has created significant job opportunities for thousands of trade professionals in our city. We are also proud to partner with the Jaguars on workforce development initiatives such as Construction Ready to expand economic opportunities in underrepresented communities. The Miller Electric Center is symbolic of our shared commitment to Jacksonville and to Powering Performance, both on and off the field."

A public-private partnership between the Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville, the $120 million Miller Electric Center is a state of the art 125,000 square-foot facility that will house all of the team's football staff and football operations including locker rooms, training and medical facilities, office space and a draft room.

It will include two full-size grass practice fields, an indoor field, shaded public viewing stands, concession areas and a team store.

"The City of Jacksonville is incredibly excited for this new addition to our Downtown," said Mayor Lenny Curry said in a statement issued by the team.

"Miller Electric has been active in our community since its inception. We are grateful to Miller Electric and the Jacksonville Jaguars for their continued investment in building up Jacksonville."

The Jacksonville City Council unanimously approved the legislation for the Miller Electric Center last August, and the construction commenced immediately upon the conclusion of the 2021 football season.
