About the Jaguars
• The story remains the same, and merely adds another sad chapter every week: the Jags are on a five-game losing streak and every loss this season has been by eight points or less.
• The Jaguars have held a fourth-quarter lead in four of their six losses. Their opponents have scored go-ahead touchdowns with 5:31 or less remaining in the game. The Jags have been outscored 62-37 in the fourth quarter this season.
• Travis Etienne's 356 rushing yards in the last three games are the most in franchise history for a running back in his first three starts. Maurice Jones-Drew had 270 yards in his first three starts and Fred Taylor had 232. He also has the most rushing yards in the NFL over the last three games.
About the Raiders
• The Raiders first four losses followed the Jaguars' pattern. They fell by 5, 6, 2 and 1 points but then went to New Orleans last week and were shut out 24-0, gaining on 38 yards rushing. Quarterback Derek Carr was 15 of 26 for 101 yards and was sacked three times.
• Wide receiver Davante Adams, the biggest catch of free agency, had one catch for 3 yards last week and has three games in which he's gained 40 or fewer receiving yards. He had three such games in his last 56 with Green Bay.
• The Raiders are 25th in total defense and 25th against the pass.
Key Matchup
Jaguars OT Jawaan Taylor vs. Raiders DE Maxx Crosby
Taylor has having a bounce-back season from 2021 is among the best tackles in the league in preventing sacks and pressures. He has another big challenge on Sunday against Crosby, a relentless player who has six sacks and 12 tackles for losses this season. Crosby has an assortment of moves and is adept at making one, then countering what the blocker does in response.
