About the Jacksonville Jaguars

• The Jaguars will play the second of their two preseason games at home, facing the Steelers for only the second time in history in a preseason game.

• Most of the Jaguars starters will play much of the first half, it not all. That includes quarterback Trevor Lawrence, running back Travis Etienne and the starting offensive line. Likely to see their first game action of the preseason will be wide receivers Christian Kirk and Laviska Shenault.

• Two offensive line battles bear watching, Tyler Shatley and Ben Barth at left guard and Jawaan Taylor and Walker Little at right tackle.

• Kicker Ryan Santoso is on the spot since the team was confident enough in his performances in the first two preseason games and training camp to cut two competitors so far. But special teams coach Heath Farwell put him on notice this week: there are street free agents out there to bring in if he falters.

• Players on the second and third defense need to show up better than they did against the Raiders and the Browns in the preseason. They got after it this week in practice but need to do when facing a different uniform color. Among those on the hot seat: outside linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson, and safeties Daniel Thomas, Andrew Wingard and Rudy Ford.

About the Pittsburgh Steelers

• Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett was the talk of Steel City last week after he completed 13 of 15 passes and led a game-winning touchdown drive in a 32-25 victory over Carolina. Fans have been clamoring for Pickett since Mitch Trubisky's first fluttering pass of training camp and he has a huge chance against the Jaguars to raise his stock.

• Jaguars fans wanted the team to grab Georgia wide receiver George Pickens, who went to the Steelers in the second round. Pickens caught a 26-yard touchdown pass last week and the player the Jags traded out of the second round to select, linebacker Devin Lloyd has yet to play any meaningful snaps in camp because of a hamstring injury. If Pickens has a big night, #JagTwitter will be abuzz.

• Former Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack is now a Steeler. He had two assisted tackles last week and probably wouldn't mind making a big play against the Jags first offense.
