JAHA, Greater Johnstown Community YMCA to hold 'Corks & Cocktails' wine auction

Sep. 28—JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — This event is something to wine about.

The Johnstown Area Heritage Association and the Greater Johnstown Community YMCA will present "Corks & Cocktails: 13th Annual Charity Wine Auction" at 6 p.m. Friday inside the Community Foundation Oilhouse at Peoples Natural Gas Park, 90 Johns St., downtown Johnstown.

"The Johnstown Area Heritage Association and the Greater Johnstown Community YMCA share the goal of making Johnstown a better place to live, move to and visit for families of all shapes and sizes," said Patty Carnevali, president and CEO of JAHA.

"Downtown is more vibrant because of the programs, facilities and events offered by JAHA and the YMCA, and we are excited to partner with the Y on this event."

A farm-to-table tasting menu will be presented by Pagano's, and the bar will feature wine and bourbon cocktails exclusively curated for the event by April Eyler of the Wine Loft.

The live auction will feature wines from the Cayuse, Leonetti, Sine qua Non Quilceda Creek vineyards and others, including several 100-point wines.

There also will be two special bourbons on auction — Pappy Van Winkle Special Reserve "Lot B" 12-year Straight Bourbon Whiskey 2019 Release and Pappy Van Winkle 15-year 107 proof.

A silent auction will feature items that range from tickets to the Dropkick Murphys concert on Oct. 26 at 1st Summit Arena @ Cambria County War Memorial, and the Classic Vinyl Concert Series performance on Oct. 27 of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Prince's "Purple Rain" at The State Theater of Johnstown, and an exclusive DVD bundle of two classic Johnstown Flood movies — the 1989 Academy Award winning documentary by Charles Guggenheim and a Blu-Ray edition of the recently remastered 1926 silent film starring Janet Gaynor.

In addition, there will be select jewelry items from Precious Metals & Diamond Co.

George Byich will entertain on acoustic guitar throughout the evening.

Proceeds will benefit JAHA and the Greater Johnstown Community YMCA programming.

Tickets are $100 per person.
