Jake Paul hits out at ‘absurd rumours’ about FBI raid: ‘Bad people will be removed from my life’
Jake Paul has described the rumours that have been circulating since an FBI raid at his house as “absolutely absurd”.
FBI agents seized multiple firearms while carrying out a raid at the YouTuber’s home earlier this month.
Footage from local news showed a number of large guns being confiscated during the raid, including one which was reportedly found leaning on a hot tub in his garden. Paul was not home during the search, his attorney said.
There has been much speculation over the reason for the raid in recent days, and now Paul has spoken out against the rumours in a since-deleted YouTube video.
“Just to clarify things and set the record straight, the FBI raid is entirely related to the Arizona looting situation that happened,” Paul said, referring to reports that he had taken part in a riot at a shopping mall in Scottsdale, Arizona in June.
At the time of the riot, the 23-year-old denied taking part in any looting or criminal activity, insisting that he was instead trying to find a protest against the death of George Floyd.
In the recent video about the speculation, he said: “It’s an investigation. There are rumours about it having to do with so many other things that have nothing to do with me or my character and the s*** that people are making up is absolutely absurd.”
Paul also said when he becomes aware of people around him doing “malicious things” they are “immediately cut out” his life.
“I don’t put up with bulls***,” he said. “I don’t surround myself with bad people. If someone does something bad, they will be removed from my life.”
Paul rose to fame on the video sharing app Vine, before crossing over to YouTube. He is renowned for his provocative humour and pranks.
