Youtuber Jake Paul has been accused of “stealing” elements of his latest song from another rapper Elijah Daniel.

Paul released “Fresh Outta London” this week, and fans were quick to notice many similarities with a 2018 song from Daniel titled “Phaggot”.

Daniel, who also goes by Lil Phag, shared a fan-made clip comparing the two songs on Twitter. He accompanied it with the caption: “NOT JAKE PAUL JACKING MY SON BEAT AND FLOW ABOUT SUCKING D**** LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I RLY NEED A BREAK”.

Daniel has also since replied to Paul’s tweet announcing the release of “Fresh Outta London” saying, “Sounded better when i released it two years ago lmao.”

Amid the questions, Paul has been forced to clarify that he wrote his own song.

According to the Youtuber, people have been adding false writing credits for his new track on the music streaming platform, Spotify.

“What’s going on here is that people can’t handle that I made a good song & they’re doing everything they can to make it seem like I didn’t write it,” he wrote.

Paul added, “A random user inserted names under the producer and writer section. smfh. ppl mad.”

In an additional lengthy Instagram Story, the 23-year-old wrote, “Also, it’s normal to work with writers in music and 95 per cent of artists do.

“I’ve worked with writers before and it helps the creative process and together you can come up with better music. I like creating with other people and collaborating to make the best piece of art. BUT NOT ALL THE TIME.”

Paul continued to defend himself writing, “If people are gonna try to go online and say I didn’t write something because it was good, then I’m going to prove them wrong.”

He concluded the post, “This isn’t even my best song. I have harder s***. AND YES I WROTE THAT S*** TOO.”

The Independent has approached Paul's representatives for comment.

Paul's new song has also fuelled his feud with rapper KSI, after the duo released their music videos on the same day.

The Youtube star recently faced criticism for appearing to flout coronavirus restrictions after hosting a major party at his Calabasas mansion in Los Angeles during the pandemic.
