Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala’s Crimean-language album QIRIM hits Top 6 on European charts

Eurovision 2016 winner, the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar singer Jamala, has seen her album QIRIM jump to No. 6 on the European music chart in the first week of December as it continues its rise on the continental charts, radio stations, and streaming platforms.

More than 250 albums from all European countries are added to this national broadcasters’ chart every month, Jamala said, sharing her album's achievements on social media

"It is incredible for me to be in the top ten albums among other European artists. Already today QIRIM can be heard on the radio in the Czech Republic, Turkey, Georgia, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Jordan, Greece, Latin America, Germany, the USA, Canada and even Japan. Jamala released QIRIM to coincide with Ukraine’s hosting of Eurovision 2023 in May in Liverpool, England.It contains 14 Crimean Tatar songs from different regions of the temporarily occupied peninsula.

Last week, Jamala was number 3 in the global Spotify Equal 2023 chart.
