Over the weekend, the Sun reported that The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil and her boyfriend musician James Blake went to visit Prince Harry and Meghan at their new home in Montecito.

“Jameela and James drove up to Montecito from Los Angeles and spent time with Meghan and Harry,” a source told the paper.

“They also had a stroll on the beach but Meghan and Harry didn’t venture out with them.”

The paper also noted the Tweets Jamil sent over the weekend about Prince Andrew.

“I think they may be more embarrassed by their alleged resident pedo Andrew who was besties with a sex trafficker, than an American supporting women voting in her own country and loosely referencing the importance of democracy,” she wrote, referencing the criticism Meghan has faced for promoting the importance of voting ahead of that 2020 election as well as Prince Andrew's friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Queen's second son denies any allegations of sexual impropriety.

The Sun's article spawned subsequent stories in numerous publication, and now Jamil has taken to Twitter to respond to rumors that she and Meghan are now "best friends" and quarantining together.

"LOL. Went to a hotel in SB [Santa Barbara] for a romantic getaway with my boyfriend... and have seen 8 days of articles with increasingly ridiculous stories, none of which are consistent, none of which make sense... (all to now create the lie that she controls me and coordinates my every move.)" Jamil wrote on Twitter.

"I’ve met this woman once. Ever. #BestFriends These articles are a strategy to now blame her for MY every word and move. And to attempt to discredit my calling them out as if it isn’t a *FACT* that they bully and harass her for clicks, to feed Britain’s already sturdy xenophobia."

The actress then went on to call out the British media for racist coverage of Meghan in the past.

"As the conversation around racism in UK media is heating up, they are scrambling to justify years of racially motivated abuse/harassment by turning the public against her based on lies and rumors. Remember how they printed she would 'thicken the Royal blue blood with EXOTIC DNA?'" she wrote.

At this point, it's unclear when Jamil and Meghan spent time together. However, Jamil has previously spoken about a phone call she received from the Duchess, after she was featured in Meghan's guest-edited issue of British Vogue. Last year, Jamil told Grazia that the royal was "warm, kind and actually very LOLs" on the call. "I had never met her before, but we chatted very openly," she added.
