James Martin has revealed that ITV has renewed his show Saturday Morning for another year.

The future of Martin's cooking show was cast in doubt earlier this year after he was accused of "bullying" and exhibiting "intimidating" behaviour towards his crew.

However, during his sold-out live show at the Birmingham Symphony Hall on Monday (October 23), the TV chef informed the crowd that ITV has now "made a decision".

"I want to thank everyone for their support. It's been a difficult time and I've not been well," Martin began, according to Birmingham Live.

He continued: "I wanted to let you know about the future of my Saturday show as ITV have just made a decision yesterday. So, ITV has decided to renew the Saturday show for another year. We've just found out."

In July, it was reported that Martin allegedly "launched a foul-mouthed tirade against staff after a drain was blocked at his home" while filming Saturday Morning in 2018.

Martin later addressed the accusations, writing on social media: "I would like to apologise publicly and sincerely to the crew involved in this incident, as I did at the time."

Martin went on to explain how the incident coincided with a "fraught" and "difficult" period in his life, during which he had lost his grandfather, been the victim of a home burglary, and been diagnosed with "cancer on [his] face".

"I can only say I am human and following a build-up of personal life pressure, I admit that I overreacted regarding the damage to my home," he concluded.

A spokesperson for Martin's production company Blue Marlin also responded to the claims, writing that Martin "acknowledges he responded emotionally" and "wholly regrets" it.

James Martin's Saturday Morning airs on ITV 1 and ITVX.
