James Middleton and Alizee Thevenet Are Married!
James Middleton and Alizee Thevene have tied the knot! Middleton announced the news in an Instagram post on Sunday, sharing that he and Thevenet were married in southeastern France on Saturday.
"Mr & Mrs Middleton ❤️ 🇬🇧 🇫🇷," he wrote on social media. "Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village [of] Bormes-les-Mimosas. Words cannot describe how happy I am ❤️." In the picture posted, Thevene's dress appears to be a simple white off-the-shoulder style, and in true James Middleton fashion, the photo also features a photobomb from one of his pups in the background. For his part, the groom wore a cream-colored jacked over a pale blue shirt and navy tie.
Though it is unconfirmed who exactly Middleton means when he says he was "surrounded by family," it's a safe assumption that the Duchess of Cambridge was there for her brother's big day. That said, Will and Kate have yet to publicly send their congrats to the newlyweds.
This weekend's wedding was a celebration more than a year in the making. Middleton and Thevene got engaged back in fall 2019. "❤️She said OUI ❤️" he wrote on Instagram in October of that year. "Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news 🥂🍾 #jalizee 🇬🇧🇫🇷"
But like so many couples, Middleton and Thevene had to postpone their nuptials due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. "It's very sad, but it's just not practical to hold it in this crisis," a source told the Daily Mail in March 2020.
