Jamie Foxx has issued an update following his health troubles, describing an "unexpected dark journey".
The actor, who recently appeared in the Netflix movie They Cloned Tyrone, was hospitalised earlier this year after an unspecified medical complication. Now, he has updated fans with a post on Instagram.
“You're lookin at a man who is thankful," Foxx wrote in the caption, accompanying a photo of himself. "Finally startin to feel like myself… it's been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light…"

He continued: "I'm thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers… I have a lot of people to thank… u just don't know how much it meant… I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn't know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day… #swipeleft #imbackandimbetter #nobaddays"
After his hospitalisation in April, Foxx said he "appreciated all the love" and was "feeling blessed". The actor hasn't yet opened up about the reason for his hospitalisation.
The actor can currently be heard on the big screen in Strays, which sees him voicing a foul-mouthed dog named Rug. The film follows Reggie (Will Ferrell), who befriends a group of stray dogs to enact revenge on his deplorable owner, Doug (Will Forte).

In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Strays producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller spoke about the final moments of the comedy, which they described as "cathartic".
"We insisted that, if we make the movie, they had to accomplish their goal, and when they do, the audience should applaud with joy, and they do," said Lord.
"It's a lot of hard story work, but it's very satisfying when it happens. It doesn't feel cruel or punitive. It feels fun [and] cathartic!"
Strays is in cinemas now.
