Jamie Lee Curtis doesn’t strike us as the high maintenance type, which is why it comes as no surprise that her go-to beauty product is a bare necessity: lip balm. Everyone needs one, especially this time of year, to keep their pout plump and hydrated. And Curtis loves her particular favorite so much that she buys it in bulk. What is it, you ask? Armani Beauty‘s Neo Nude Ecstasy Balm.

The Freaky Friday star revealed the recommendation in a rapid-fire questionnaire for Vanity Fair. The question was: “What is your greatest extravagance?” She answered by calling herself a “replicant,” adding: “I buy multiples of things I love.” In addition to the lip balm, those favorites include Bandolier phone cases, Anatomie athleisure wear, fleece Birkenstocks, and fleece Merrell clogs.

The roundup presents a pretty obvious theme: Curtis prioritizes convenience and comfort. But she likes it with a sprinkle of luxury where it’s worth it, hence the moisturizing indulgence that is the Armani balm. Available in three natural tints—light pink, deep pink, and plum—the sophisticated tube presents like lipstick but applies like chapstick. Antioxidant-rich caper oil keeps lips soft and hydrated for up to eight hours, per the brand.

Curtis isn’t the only one who loves it. “I adore this balm. It stays on, it’s heavy in a good way (very nourishing), I even wear it to bed,” one Sephora reviewer writes. “The plum color works beautifully for medium complexion and hair. This is a really moisturizing balm,” another adds. “I love the texture which is much softer than any other balm I have tried,” someone else raves.

The product couldn’t be more classically Curtis, who stands by minimal makeup. In a modern world where procedures and fillers are the norm, she thinks “there has been a genocide on natural beauty,” she said earlier this year at the Radically Reframing Aging Summit.

And when it comes to skincare, she keeps things just as simple. “You ready? It’s going to shake you to your core. Sea Breeze and Nivea. Water and sleep,” she told Today of her routine in 2018. “Sea Breeze is that astringent. I’ve been using that my whole life.”

She went on to admit that she has certainly “fallen prey to advertising” for more expensive beauty products. “I spent $800 on a big jar of a cream. It didn’t do anything! It doesn’t do anything!” she said. “The truth of the matter is, it doesn’t do anything for you. It’s a scam to make money.” While some have found expensive treatments worth their time, Curtis isn’t one of them.

That should say something about the luxury products Curtis is willing to pay for, including her favorite lip balm. It has to work to be worth it, and for her, it certainly does.
