Jan. 6 rally organizer says he plans to be at the Capitol again in 2025 'for whatever the Congress certifies'

• A "Stop the Steal" organizer told the Nebraska Examiner he doesn't regret his involvement.

• He said he's facing legal troubles, including a lawsuit filed against him by Capitol police.

• Yet, he said he'll be at the Capitol again in 2025 for "whatever" Congress certifies.

Ali Alexander, who's facing several lawsuits for his involvement in organizing the 'Stop the Steal' rally on January 6, 2021, said he doesn't regret his involvement — so much so that he plans to return to the Capitol for Congress' election certification in 2025.

"I plan to be at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2025, … for whatever the Congress certifies," Alexander told the Nebraska Examiner. "There's going to be a winner. There's going to be a loser. And I intend to hold a peaceful event."

While Alexander told the Examiner he doesn't regret organizing the rally, he said he wishes he had "asserted" himself more as he began coordinating with Donald Trump's team in planning the rally that the then-President spoke at.

"Whenever you're talking to a group that large, you want to do stuff out of an abundance of caution," Alexander told the Examiner. "And I don't think that the people who serve President Trump, some of them, I don't think that they acted out of an abundance of caution."

He said he had planned for a video to play during the event that directed the crowd to pre-planned areas of the Capitol, but it never went on the screens.

He denied any responsibility for the violence that ensued at the Capitol that day.

"I'm not responsible for what happened, and Trump's not responsible for what happened," he told the newspaper.

Alexander said he's facing $100,000 in legal bills as he battles a number of lawsuits, including one filed against him by a group of Capitol police officers.
