Fox & Friends co-host and meteorologist Janice Dean is being hailed as an “inspiration” after she shared a selfie during a “flare-up” on the set. The Fox News personality was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005.
Though the 49-year-old Dean acknowledged to her followers that she felt “terrible” and “in pain,” she added that she was determined to “put on a brave face.”
Looking at this picture would you suspect I’m having an #MultipleSclerosis #flareup? That’s the hardest part of this disease. I feel terrible and am in pain but you’d never know it. Today is one of those days I put on a brave face and will get through this moment by moment. pic.twitter.com/BOyVb3D80W— Janice Dean (@JaniceDean) June 20, 2019
Well-wishers offered prayers and messages of support to Dean, whose tweet resonated with those dealing with so-called “invisible” ailments and disabilities.
My sister has debilitating Arthritis as Ive mentioned before. She makes it a point to post things like you are doing today to show the face of pain & chronic illness. You’d never know by looking at her or her insane schedule that she’s having a massive flare up. Thank you!— Capri S Cafaro (@thehonorablecsc) June 20, 2019
Feels like I'm in quicksand right now but I'll soldier through til 9:00 tonight. MS can be quite hard at times.— david ausman (@dausman66) June 20, 2019

Fellow Fox personalities were among those who reached out, while Meghan McCain called Dean a “beacon of strength and inspiration.”
