January Power Poll results: Memphis leaders sound off
The Power Poll is a monthly survey sent to more than 437 influential business, political, nonprofit and cultural leaders in the Bluff City. The poll is presented by The Commercial Appeal and sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and DVL Seigenthaler - Finn Partners.

The University of Memphis canceled a grant for its social justice programming, formed in August 2020, after Gov. Bill Lee expressed concerns about the latest initiative, according to a statement from the governor's office. What do you think of the decision to cancel the grant?
26% — It was the right decision
43% — The school should not have canceled it
31% — There was probably a middle ground that should have been found
The latest proposed congressional district maps have Memphis split between Rep. Steve Cohen and Rep. David Kustoff. Do you think the city should be split between two districts?

The Tennessee Legislature will take up a bill allowing first responders to live anywhere they want, stripping municipalities from setting a residency requirement. What do you think about residency requirements?
