The upcoming release of a story about a Ukrainian volunteer and veteran of the AZOV battalion Bogdan with the call sign “Did Shinobi" (Grandfather Shinobi) has been announced by Japanese manga author Kobayashi Niki in his Feb. 20 X (Twitter) post.

It is called “Battle Scar – Shinobi” and is based on the words of a Ukrainian defender.

The manga is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024, with English, Ukrainian and Russian translations expected in August, according to the re-post from Did Shinobi.

This is not Kobayashi Niki's first work about Russia's war against Ukraine. Last March, he published Battle Scar, a manga about children's perceptions of the invasion.
